Visiting London's attractions

For centuries, London has been the centre of the western world. Therefore, you can bet that it's full of wondrous sights, art to admire, and places to explore. However, many of London's attractions have limited space for spare trolleys, bags, and suitcases. That's why we've put together a handy list of the most prominent tourist attractions in London and their luggage lockers availability.

National Gallery

The National Gallery has two cloakrooms available. One can be found at the Trafalgar Square Entrance, and the other is at the Sainsbury Wing Entrance. You should remember that the service is only available for small bags and items, so if you have any suitcases or luggage, you're better off searching for a StashPoint nearby.

Museum of London

Bag storage at the Museum of London costs £1, and you can find more information about it at the reception. Unsurprisingly, the service is unavailable for larger bags and suitcases.

Tate Modern

Bag storage at the Tate Modern: is more flexible than most cultural centers in London. Specifically, you can deposit anything from small bags to electric scooters in the cloakroom. Oversized items are not permitted.

Victoria & Albert Museum

Victoria & Albert Museum cloakrooms can accommodate a limited number of suitcases and larger items at a fee. Specifically, V&A charges £1 for coats, umbrellas, and small bags, £3 for cabin bags, or £5 for large trolley bags.

Natural History Museum

You can leave your bags in the Natural History Museum cloakroom in the Hintze Hall (inside the Cromwell Road entrance). Prices range from £1 for small items such as umbrellas and small handbags, £2 for coats, £2.5 for bags<4kg, or £5 for luggage and suitcases that weigh more than that.

Science Museum

The cloakroom of the Science Museum: can be found on level 0. Luggage storage options are limited, so you'd better search for a stashpoint in the area.

National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery accepts small bags, coats, and umbrellas in the gallery's cloakroom found below the main stairs in Room 43 (Studio Gallery). The price is £1 for umbrellas, £3 for small bags or £5 for large suitcases.

Imperial War Museum

You can store small handbags and backpacks in the Imperial War Museum lockers. Availability is limited, and you can't deposit larger items.

The Design Museum

Self-service lockers in the Design Museum can be found downstairs.

British Library

The British Library offers lockers only for hand luggage and backpacks.

British Museum

The luggage and bag policy in the British Museum is very restricted. We have published an article about British Museum's luggage policy which you can read about here, and how to get around it.
