London Bridge Station

The recently renovated London Bridge station is located right next to some of London’s most famous landmarks, such as the Tower of London, the Shard and the London City Hall. Holborn Station

  • Holborn Tube Station, where the Central Line and the Piccadilly Line meet, is an important transportation hub between the City and the West End. Regular buses stop outside the station and run down Kingsway to Waterloo or Kings Cross in the opposite direction. 
  • During rush hour, Holborn Station is frequently overcrowded, prompting workers to close the entrance during moments of extreme congestion (which usually coincides with periods of heavy rainfall).
  • Holborn is a short and pleasant walk from the British Museum, Covent Garden, and Soho.
  • Two of the four Inns of Court, Gray's Inn and Lincoln's Inn, are prominent characteristics of the district. From the north, the mansions of Sir John Soane's Museum have the view over Lincoln's Inn Fields, and from the south, the Royal College of Surgeons.
  • Holborn Station is situated between Chancery Lane and Tottenham Court Road on the Central Line. And, between Covent Garden and Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line. The British Museum, Red Lion Square, Bloomsbury Square, and Sir John Soane's Museum are all within walking distance from Holborn.
  • Fun Fact: During WWII, British Museum valuables were stored at Holborn Station. In the 1960s, there were rumors about a mummy ghost and a newspaper even offered a cash reward to anyone who risked to spend the night there, but no one accepted the offer!
