Super easy and very convenient to Radio City Music Hall, which does not have a coat room/ bag check. We were able to quickly stash our bags and make it to our show. Even though the show ran late (11:45) we were still able to grab our bags by midnight with no problem.

Luggage storage at Rockefeller Centre

Rockefeller Center doesn't run any on-site luggage storage or cloakroom for visitors, so a big bag needs a plan before you arrive.

That matters most at Top of the Rock, where bags larger than 14 x 22 x 9 inches are turned away and anything you do bring is inspected on entry. Once inside, there's no time limit to rush you back out — most people spend 45 minutes to an hour taking in the view.

The complex itself spans six blocks between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas, from 48th to 51st Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Its 19 commercial buildings draw people for the architecture, the observation deck, and seasonal skate sessions at The Rink. With Stasher, you can store bags from $2.49 per bag a day at 20+ locations near Rockefeller Centre.

Getting there with your bags

The 49th Street station on the N, Q, and R lines drops you a short walk east along 49th Street to the Center. The 5th Avenue/53rd Street station is served by the E and M trains, and it is approximately a 5-minute walk to Rockefeller Center. A single subway ride costs $2.90, so combining a bag drop with a sightseeing loop is cheap and simple.

Nearby storage options and bag rules

One Times Square bans suitcases, wheeled duffels, carry-ons, coolers, and packages outright, with no coat check as a fallback. The Museum of Modern Art prohibits luggage of any size or type, plus anything larger than 11 by 17 by 5 inches. The Empire State Building has no lockers or storage on-site for large bags, suitcases, carry-ons, or oversized packages, so sort out storage before heading up to its 86th-floor deck.

Broadway theaters, bounded by West 40th to West 54th and Sixth to Eighth Avenues, don't store luggage for guests, and anything that can't sit comfortably at your seat stays outside. Times Square itself is reachable from the Times Square-42nd Street station on the 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W, and S lines.

There is no general luggage storage facility for the Broadway neighbourhood, and individual theaters require travellers to make other arrangements before arriving with large luggage. Grand Central Terminal does not have any luggage storage services.
