Luggage storage and bag rules at Citi Field

Heading to Citi Field for a game or a concert? Bags larger than a small handbag won't make it past the gate, so knowing what to do with yours beforehand makes the whole day easier.

Citi Field sits in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, and it has no bag check of its own once you're inside. Suitcases and large bags are turned away at the gates, since every bag brought in must fit within 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches. Standard backpacks are prohibited outright, with exceptions only for ADA or medical needs and for backpacks bought inside the venue that day. If you do arrive with a bag that won't get through, temporary locker rentals run by a third party are available on-site for guests with prohibited bags. However, fully transparent backpacks with no obscured interior pockets are allowed. Getting to Citi Field with luggage

The Mets-Willets Point station is the direct rail link to Citi Field, served by the 7 train and the Long Island Rail Road Port Washington Branch. If you're coming by bus, the Q90 stops on Seaver Way adjacent to Lot A and Lot G. Plan your arrival time around the gates: for Mets games, all gates typically open 90 minutes before the scheduled start. For concerts, gate times vary, so check the specific event page on Mets.com/Events before heading over. Roosevelt Avenue, Seaver Way, and Shea Road border or intersect the immediate area around Citi Field.

You can bring and do inside

You're welcome to bring one factory-sealed plastic water bottle of 20 ounces or less, plus one sealed soft-sided child's juice box. Wrapped food or food in soft plastic is also permitted, subject to a security search at the gate. Beyond the game itself, the official Meet the Mets Memorabilia Tour runs about 75 minutes and gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the Mets Hall of Fame & Museum along with game-used memorabilia.
