Alternative luggage storage and lockers near Brooklyn

You might expect there to be ample luggage storage facilities in Brooklyn considering the presence of a major amusement park at Coney Island and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. However, neither location has this service, and there are no coin-operated lockers anywhere else in New York due to security guidelines.

Greyhound used to operate a Package Express on Livingston St. in downtown Brooklyn which offers luggage storage and still has an active website, but don’t be fooled! Photos and three Google reviewers show the location is closed down.

For Greyhound’s Port Authority bag service or Penn Station’s Amtrak parcel check, you’d have to go all the way to west Midtown Manhattan, fork over as much as $20 per item, and be back to get your stuff within 24 hours.

Things to do in Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a paradise of specialty markets and independent food vendors in Williamsburg; boutique and vintage shopping in downtown and Red Hook; and an avante-garde art and film scene in DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), along with the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music near the intersection of Fulton and Lafayette.

While you’re there, check out Fort Greene Park, snap a photo at Notorious BIG’s old apartment (226 St. James Place), and walk the streets where Mos Def, Lil Kim and more got their start. These areas are mostly farmers markets and startups now, but fans can follow in these giants’ footsteps with this guide.

Easy to book online at short notice, and a good price. The location was easy to find, very central and the service in the shop was lovely. Luggage was kept safe and it all felt completely secure so I’d definitely use Stasher again.
