The person was very friendly! It was pleasant, charged by the day so we didn’t have to worry about coming back to pick up before a certain time. Very flexible and toilets are available. The place was made for this purpose, so we know our belongings are secure and well kept! Right in the center of Paris — I recommend it +++

Very easy to locate as they also had a bag storage sign. Bags were kept in a locked room with a tag for identification and the same tag number provided for collection. Gelato was also very nice when we came to collect! Smooth process, would definitely do again.

Perfect, we found the location and was greeted with a smile on arrival, placed our bags in a lockable room, supplied with the number to match the bags and went on our way, very easy and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Make sure you grab something to eat as well, delicious.

Museum bag rules and free onsite lockers

Suitcases and large bags exceeding 55 x 35 x 20 cm are not permitted inside The Louvre Museum, including the welcome area and exhibition rooms. Bags within that limit still face mandatory security checks at every entrance. Staff may also carry out random inspections, ask you to open your bag, and ask about its contents at any time.

Free, automatic self-service lockers are available for smaller personal items beneath the Pyramid and at Porte des Lions. Locker contents must be collected on the same day. The Porte des Lions lockers close at 3 p.m., so anything stored there must be retrieved before closing.

Prohibited items include blunt objects, explosive or flammable substances, aerosol generators, and animals. This list is not exhaustive, so an item that fits the size limit may still be refused at security or unsuitable for the museum’s lockers.

Storing oversized luggage and booking late collection

Stasher has no bag size or weight limits, making it suitable for luggage that needs more room than a standard locker. Three Stasher points near The Louvre Museum entrance stay open late, providing a nearby option when collection is needed later in the day or after the museum closes.

A spot near The Louvre Museum is booked online with either a trusted local shop or hotel, or a self-service smart locker. The bag is kept safely out of sight until collection. Every Stasher booking near The Louvre Museum is covered by the Stasher Guarantee, with protection of up to €12,000 per booking.

Timing your bag-free visit and transit routes

Last entry is 1 hour before closing, while exhibition rooms must be vacated 30 minutes before closing. Palais-Royal – Musée du Louvre station is a 0 to 2-minute walk away, served by Metro Lines 1 and 7. For the Cour Napoléon entrance, bus lines 21, 27, 39, 67, 68, 69, 72, 74, 85 and 95 stop within a 1 to 3-minute walk.
