Luggage Storage and Lockers in Westbahnhof, Stasher's 2024 Guide

    About Westbahnhof

Vienna's Westbahnhof is one of the city's principal railway stations, playing a vital role in Austrian and European rail transportation. Opened in 1858, this historic station has witnessed significant transformations, reflecting the evolution and modernization of rail travel over the centuries. Today, it is a bustling hub that connects Vienna with various domestic and international destinations, making it an essential transport link for travelers.

Visitors to Westbahnhof often explore the nearby attractions, as the station is conveniently located near several iconic landmarks. The vibrant Mariahilferstrasse, Vienna's longest shopping street, is just a stone's throw away, offering a wide array of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The station also provides easy access to the city's rich cultural treasures, including the MuseumsQuartier, Hofburg Palace, and the stunning Schönbrunn Palace.

Westbahnhof's significance extends beyond transportation, serving as a gateway to Vienna's distinct cultural and historical experiences. As a major transit point, it seamlessly integrates with the city's efficient public transport system, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Vienna's architectural beauty, musical heritage, and culinary delights. Whether you're arriving for a short visit or connecting to another European destination, Westbahnhof stands as a central pillar of Vienna's dynamic and welcoming atmosphere.

Is there luggage storage at Westbahnhof?

If you're traveling through Vienna's Westbahnhof station and need to store your luggage, there are convenient options available. Westbahnhof offers an official luggage storage service through self-service lockers, allowing you to explore the city without the burden of carrying your bags. These lockers can be found in the station's basement level and are accessible 24/7.

The pricing structure for these lockers typically varies based on size and duration. For example, small lockers generally cost around €2-€4 for 24 hours, while larger lockers may range from €4-€6. These lockers provide a secure place to store your belongings, but availability can be limited during peak times.

Besides the station's facilities, consider using Stasher's network for additional storage options across central Vienna. This alternative can offer more flexibility and potentially lower costs. While the official station lockers are a great choice, it’s always a good idea to compare your options to find the best fit for your needs.
