Messe Berlin: Location, Bag Rules, and On-Site Storage

Lots of visitors arrive at Messe Berlin with a bag that isn't welcome past the door.

The S-Bahn stations Messe Nord/ICC and Messe Süd get you closest to the halls, but the exhibition grounds themselves have no storage of their own. Olympiastadion Berlin nearby has no lockers or left-luggage service either, so for events there you'll want to sort your bags before heading over. Messe Berlin sits in Berlin's Charlottenburg district, well west of the city centre. It is the venue for major international trade fairs such as ITB, InnoTrans, Fruit Logistica, and Grüne Woche. Large suitcases are not allowed inside the halls and must be left at the luggage tents outside the entrances. Bags and backpacks larger than DIN A3 will be refused entry, even though there is no general clear-bag rule. For security reasons, staff may also inspect coats and other containers, not just bags. For certain events or areas, Messe Berlin may ban bags and containers entirely. Visitor luggage storage is available at Eingang Ost and Eingang West. The cloakroom costs 3 EUR, while luggage storage costs 6 EUR. Oversized suitcases are not accepted in the cloakroom and must go to the dedicated luggage storage areas at the entrances. Getting to the Exhibition Grounds with Luggage

The S-Bahn stations Messe Nord/ICC and Messe Süd are the recommended stations for reaching the exhibition grounds. S-Bahn lines S41, S42, and S46 serve Messe Nord/ICC. Bus lines M49, X34, X49, and 218 stop at S Messe Nord/ICC. From the U-Bahn, Theodor-Heuss-Platz on line U2 also provides access to the grounds. The Messegelände under the Funkturm has several entrances: Eingang Nord at Hammarskjöldplatz/Halle 19, Eingang Ost at Messedamm/Halle 14, and Eingang Süd at Jafféstraße, so it's worth checking which hall your event uses before deciding where to leave a bag.

Nearby Attractions and Their Own Bag Rules

Olympiastadion Berlin has no luggage storage service or lockers on site, and no facility for storing suitcases or large bags. It is served by U-Bahn line U2 at Olympia-Stadion and S-Bahn lines S3 and S9 at Olympiastadion.
