Everything was perfect; the luggage is in a separate room with a tag that is checked by the staff when it is collected.

There was a 15-minute waiting line, but the process to deposit the luggage and then pick it up was very quick. The staff was very kind as well :)
- Maria

- Kimberley

Waverley Mall location very easy to find, staff member was really friendly and helpful. Central location if using the train station. Just a note for future users of location, you don't have to go from the station out onto street level and around to the location, like Google Maps suggests. You can just go through Waverley Market (where the McDonald's is) and go up to the location there.

Easy to find, the staff were helpful, and our bags were stored in an area only accessible to staff. Drop off and pickup were efficient.

Excellent location from Waverley railway station. Open 24 hours. We left our luggage at 10 am and took them back at 11 pm. The man was nice and cooperative

Bag rules at Edinburgh Castle, Traverse Theatre, and National Museum
Stasher has no bag size or weight limits, unlike the restrictions at several Edinburgh Old Town venues.
Edinburgh Castle does not permit suitcases or large rucksacks of 30L or over. It also provides no luggage storage for visitors or storage for personal items. The Traverse Theatre has no cloakroom or luggage storage facilities, and bags taken into its auditoriums must be no larger than 22cm x 35cm x 56cm.
The National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street offers a different option. Its Entrance Hall has self-service lockers for luggage up to 58 x 44 x 66cm. These lockers are available during the museum’s daily opening hours, from 10:00 to 17:00. This makes the museum’s lockers suitable only for bags within that stated size, while luggage storage with Stasher has no dimension cap.
Edinburgh Trams connections, opening hours, and booking
Stasher has storage near Edinburgh Old Town, with 6 points staying open late and 1 open 24/7. Online bookings secure a spot in a trusted local shop or hotel, or in a self-service smart locker. Bags remain safely out of sight until collection. Every Stasher booking carries the Stasher Guarantee up to £10,000 per booking.
Edinburgh Trams feature six onboard luggage racks per tram, including designated spaces for large or bulky suitcases. All tickets must be purchased or validated before boarding. Passengers using tap-on, tap-off payment must use a platform validator before boarding, so ticket checks are completed before the tram journey. Before drop-off, a cancelled booking can receive a 50% refund or a 100% coupon.
Storage timing during Edinburgh festival season
Set luggage-storage timing against the event footprint. The Edinburgh International Book Festival runs from 15 to 30 August 2026 at the Edinburgh Futures Institute and other Old Town venues, making those dates the clearest reference for an itinerary centred in the Old Town. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe runs across the city from 7 to 31 August 2026, so plans moving between venues need the broader festival window. Both programmes overlap from 15 to 30 August.
