Luggage storage and bag rules at the Cívitas Metropolitano

If you're heading to a match, concert or stadium tour at Atlético de Madrid's home ground, sorting out your luggage before you arrive will save you waiting at the gate.

The Civitas Metropolitano sits in Madrid's San Blas-Canillejas district and hosts football matches, major international concerts and interactive museum tours. The stadium runs a cloakroom where you can leave your belongings, but suitcases and large bags are banned inside, so a big travel bag won't get through security no matter how you carry it. Getting to the stadium with luggage

The nearest metro stop is Estadio Metropolitano on Line 7, right beside the stadium, though Las Rosas on Line 2 and Canillejas on Line 5 are each around a quarter of an hour's walk away if you're coming from another part of the city. Central Coslada is the closest Cercanías train station to the stadium, serving lines C-2 and C-7. Taxi ranks sit on Calle Suecia and on Calle Luis Aragonés near Plaza de Grecia, which means a cab can take you to the gate itself rather than leaving you to walk with your luggage. On matchdays, the gates usually open 90 minutes before kick-off, so there's time to drop off a smaller bag at the stadium cloakroom before the crowds build.

Visiting the stadium and its surroundings

The Atleti Tour & Museum takes about two hours and covers both the stadium itself and the interactive museum, which works well for both matchday and non-matchday visits. During events, ticket holders can pick up food and drink from bars and food trucks dotted around the ground, though general spectator areas only serve alcohol-free beer. Plaza de Grecia in front of the main façade is the natural meeting point before entering.
