FYI there was also a another convenience store with the same name on a parallel street nearby. Staff was nice and got me to take a photo of my luggage before I left it

Easy to locate, close to public transport and all of the main tourist spots. Staff was friendly. Luggage kept in locked room, very secure.

The Stasher locker location was very convenient to the train station, and the locker reservation process was straightforward. Once I figured out how to open the locker and put my bag in, it was easy. (It will be even easier the next time.) Although Stasher listed the locker sizes in cm, the locker diagram (with bags in it) and descriptions ("large" and "medium") were a bit misleading, as our "large" bag did not fit in the "large" locker. Next time I'll know.

Our location was the Grove House hotel. Very central location in Edinburgh. 10 Minutes from the castle and Royal Mile. Kind staff and very accurate.

The stashpoint was good although the staff not quite as friendly as our previous visit. Ended up having to book extra space once there which we didn't do 2 days before despite having the same bags to be stashed. The staff member on this particular day was not as helpful and friendly

Bag rules at Princes Street venues

Stasher has no bag size or weight limits, so oversized luggage and multiple bags from a group can be stored. That contrasts with several Princes Street venues.

Edinburgh Castle, 0.4 miles from the Princes Street tram stop, prohibits suitcases and rucksacks of 30L or over and may search bags at the entrance. Johnnie Walker Princes Street also reserves the right to conduct security searches on entry, and may confiscate items considered dangerous or disruptive.

The Usher Hall on Lothian Road prohibits bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm and may search them. The Traverse Theatre, a few minutes’ walk from Princes Street, limits auditorium bags to 22cm x 35cm x 56cm and prohibits luggage for security reasons. For bags that exceed these limits, luggage storage in Princes Street is the practical alternative to taking them to the venue.

Hours, access and late collection

Stasher has storage near the Princes Street entrance: 6 points stay open late, and 1 is open 24/7. This provides a late-collection option close to the entrance.

Edinburgh Station is open from 04:00 to 00:45 Monday to Friday and Saturday, then from 06:00 to 00:45 on Sunday. These hours frame station arrival and departure times.

West Princes Street, between Frederick Street and South Charlotte Street, is closed to all vehicles, including buses and trams. Access through this section is on foot.

At 145 Princes Street, Johnnie Walker Princes Street is open 10am to 9:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 8:30pm Sunday.
