Venue bag rules: what you can carry

Scotiabank Arena keeps things strict, allowing only bags smaller than 16.5cm x 11.5cm, and while some pages mention a CA$25 bag check, the official Know Before You Go page says there is none.

At Rogers Centre, Blue Jays games let you bring bags under 16 x 16 x 8 inches, but concerts shrink that allowance to clutches and bum bags no larger than 7 x 4 x 2 inches. Roy Thomson Hall caps bags at 14 x 14 x 6 inches and does not store larger ones, though its lobby coat check does operate as a cashless service beside the main entrance.

The Queen Elizabeth Theatre offers a first-come, first-served coat and bag check on the second floor, but it cannot take oversized bags or prohibited items.

Getting around with luggage

Union Station's elevators connect the street, concourse, and subway platforms, which helps if you arrive with bags and need to reach a train. A full walking loop through the downtown core takes three to four hours.

Storing bags while you explore

The St. Lawrence Market South building is open Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday from 7 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, while the North Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 5 am to 3 pm. Waterworks Food Hall stays open later, from 11:30 am to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
