Although there is not much to do around besides waiting for your train, the station is located at a very convenient spot that allows you to explore the surrounding area easily.

  1. The Manchester Chinatown is only a few blocks away from the Piccadilly station. It is the third largest Chinatown in Europe and a great opportunity for a stroll.
  2. A bit further away from the Piccadilly Station, you will find the Science and Industry Museum, as well as the Manchester Art Gallery.
  3. Right across the station, you can find the Manchester Gay Village, a vibrant pedestrian area with intense LGBTQ-friendly nightlife. This is also where the Manchester Pride Parade takes place. 🌈
  4. Although it is a bit of a walk to get there, do not miss the chance to visit the refurbished Manchester Cathedral and see the Angel Stone, the last remnant of the Saxon times.
  5. If you are in the area and you are in the mood for some reading, visit the John Rylands Library and admire its sublime neo-Gothic architecture.
  6. The Piccadilly Gardens park is not far from the station and is a perfect day to spend a couple of hours in the summer.
  7. Manchester owes much of its development to its canal network. Nowadays you can visit them and even cruise on them to get an alternative view of Manchester.
  8. Visit the Alan Turing memorial near the station.
  9. For all the die-hard fans of the beautiful game, a visit to the National Football Museum is obligatory!

Easy to book online at short notice, and a good price. The location was easy to find, very central and the service in the shop was lovely. Luggage was kept safe and it all felt completely secure so I’d definitely use Stasher again.
