Upcoming Events in Amsterdam
Amsterdam's spring and summer calendar is one of the busiest in Europe. Here are six confirmed events coming up in the next 90 days, all good reasons to arrive bag-free.World Press Photo — De Nieuwe Kerk, Dam Square (18 April–21 September 2025)
The world's largest and most prestigious annual press photography exhibition runs through the summer at De Nieuwe Kerk, right on Dam Square. Visitors tend to spend 2–3 hours inside; storing bags nearby at a Stashpoint close to Amsterdam Centraal before heading over makes the visit far more comfortable.
Rolling Kitchens — Westerpark (13–17 May 2025)
One of Amsterdam's most popular food events transforms part of Westerpark into an enormous open-air restaurant for five days, with food trucks representing cuisines from across the world. Visitors typically spend the afternoon grazing; travelling light means you can move between stalls without juggling a suitcase.
Amsterdam Art Week — multiple venues (19–24 May 2025)
Five days across 70+ locations, with more than 300 artists and around 45,000 visitors expected. The programme spans galleries, studios, and outdoor spaces across the city. Storing bags at a Stashpoint near your first venue means you can cover multiple locations in a single day without the weight.
Red Light Jazz Festival — De Wallen and surrounding area (5–7 June 2025)
Live jazz performances at dozens of locations across the Red Light District and nearby streets over three days. The area around De Wallen is already dense with foot traffic; arriving without luggage is strongly recommended. Stasher locations near Centraal Station are a short walk from most festival stages.
Holland Festival — multiple venues (3–28 June 2025)
The Netherlands' biggest international performing arts festival runs for the whole of June, with theatre, opera, dance, and music across venues throughout the city. With events on most evenings, many visitors arrive into Amsterdam earlier in the day to explore before the evening programme — storing bags at the start of the day and collecting after the show.
Festival on the Ring A10 — Amsterdam city-wide (21 June 2025)
On 21 June 2025, Amsterdam turns 750 years old, and the city is celebrating by closing the entire A10 ring road to traffic for a 15-kilometre parade of music, dance, and theatre from 12:00 to 23:00. This is a free event drawing visitors from across the Netherlands and beyond. Stasher locations across the city will be useful for day-trippers arriving by train — store on arrival, collect before the last train home.
Luggage storage at Amsterdam train stations
Amsterdam's rail network connects the city to the rest of the Netherlands and to international destinations across Europe. Stasher covers every major station.Amsterdam Centraal
Amsterdam's main station handles intercity services to Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and Eindhoven, as well as international trains to Brussels, Paris, and London via the Eurostar. NS operates official coin-operated lockers in the east wing of the station: small lockers cost €8.50–11.50 for the first 24 hours, large lockers €11.50–17.25 for the first 24 hours — and unlike Stasher, there is no advance reservation, so they regularly fill during peak periods. Stasher has 20+ locations within easy walking distance of Centraal, starting from €2.99 per bag per day — as much as 75% cheaper than the station's own lockers, with the guarantee and online booking that the locker bank doesn't offer. Full details on our Amsterdam Centraal Station luggage storage page.
Arriving on the Eurostar or Thalys from London, Brussels, or Paris? Clear customs, drop your bags at a Stashpoint, and return for collection when your hotel is ready — the nearest Stashpoints to the station are less than five minutes on foot.
Amsterdam Sloterdijk
Sloterdijk is a key interchange for travellers connecting between Schiphol Airport and destinations north and east of the city. The station does not have an on-site left luggage facility. Stasher fills this gap with locations nearby starting from €2.99. See our Amsterdam Sloterdijk luggage storage page.
Amsterdam Zuid
Amsterdam Zuid connects the city's southern business district to Schiphol Airport (a 7-minute train journey) and to the North-South metro line serving the city centre. Like Sloterdijk, there is no official left luggage at the station itself. Stasher locations nearby cover the gap. See our Amsterdam Zuid luggage storage page.
Luggage storage near Schiphol Airport
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) is one of Europe's busiest airports and is directly linked to Amsterdam Centraal by NS train — a journey of approximately 16–17 minutes, running every 7–10 minutes, with tickets from around €5.20–7.10. The station sits directly below the terminal building, accessible by escalator from Schiphol Plaza.Official luggage storage at Schiphol is operated by the airport and is located in the basement of Arrival Halls 1 and 2, with prices starting at €6 per day for a small locker — and significantly more for larger bags. Airport storage is convenient if you are staying airside, but for travellers heading into Amsterdam before a flight or after landing, Stasher's in-city locations start from €2.99 per bag per day, available across the city with many open 24/7. Full details on our Schiphol Airport luggage storage page.
If you're flying into Schiphol with a few hours before your accommodation opens, the city is genuinely close: train to Centraal, store bags at a Stashpoint nearby, explore Amsterdam, collect on the way back. Taxi or rideshare from the airport to central Amsterdam costs approximately €40–60 and takes 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
Luggage storage near Amsterdam venues and attractions
Amsterdam's most visited attractions each create a specific bag storage need — and in several cases, a bag policy that makes pre-visit storage essential.Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum enforces a strict bag policy: only bags no larger than A4 size (approximately 21 x 30 cm) are permitted inside the galleries. The museum's cloakroom accepts small coats and handbags only — large bags, suitcases, backpacks, and travel luggage cannot be stored there. Arriving with a suitcase means you cannot enter. Stasher has locations within walking distance of the museum, starting from €2.99 per bag. Full details on our Rijksmuseum luggage storage page.
Anne Frank House
One of Amsterdam's most visited sites, the Anne Frank House has timed entry slots that sell out in advance. Arriving with luggage adds unnecessary friction to a visit that already requires careful planning. Stasher locations near Centraal Station are a short walk from the entrance. See our Anne Frank House luggage storage page.
Van Gogh Museum
Like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum does not permit large bags inside. Store before you arrive and walk straight to your timed entry slot. See our Van Gogh Museum luggage storage page.
Heineken Experience
The brewery tour on Stadhouderskade is a popular afternoon activity for visitors with an evening flight. Store bags beforehand and collect on the way to Centraal for the Schiphol train. See our Heineken Experience luggage storage page.
Albert Cuyp Market
Amsterdam's largest street market in De Pijp is a favourite for day visitors. Travelling there without luggage makes it significantly more enjoyable. See our Albert Cuyp Market luggage storage page.
Keukenhof Gardens
If you're visiting Keukenhof as a day trip from Amsterdam, storing bags in the city before taking the shuttle is far simpler than navigating the gardens with luggage. See our Keukenhof luggage storage page.
Long-term and large group luggage storage in Amsterdam
Stasher's Amsterdam locations handle multi-day and multi-week bookings at the same flat daily rate — no price change for extended stays, no renegotiation needed. For travellers using Amsterdam as a base for longer European trips, booking out a Stashpoint for several days is a practical alternative to carrying luggage between cities and back.Groups travelling together can book multiple bags on a single reservation, with clear pricing per bag regardless of quantity. For very large groups — tour parties, sports teams, school trips — contacting Stasher support in advance is recommended to confirm space.
Amsterdam is also a significant cruise port, with passengers regularly docking at Amsterdam's cruise terminal before their accommodation opens. The gap between disembarkation and hotel check-in is one of the most common luggage storage use cases in the city — Stasher covers this directly, with locations accessible from the terminal area.
