Plenty of travellers passing through Queenstown Airport need somewhere to leave a bag, whether between flights or after an early check-out.

Before you fly: security, liquids and waiting airside

The terminal opens daily from 04:00 to 22:30, and overnight stays aren't permitted, so if you have an early-morning flight you'll need somewhere to leave your bags before the doors open. Getting between the airport and Queenstown

The Orbus Route 1 public bus connects the airport with Queenstown town centre, taking around 19 minutes on a typical run. The main arrival point in town is the Stanley Street Bus Hub. One thing to plan around: Queenstown Airport has no transit hall, so if you're connecting through, you'll need to collect your bags, clear passport control and biosecurity, then re-check them and go through security again. This is a good reason to think about whether you want to carry everything with you on a stopover, or leave the bulk of it somewhere you can retrieve it later.
