Dublin Zoo sits within Phoenix Park in Dublin 8, drawing over a million visitors a year for its animal habitats and conservation work. Backpacks and large bags aren't permitted inside, so you can only bring a small bag no bigger than cabin-sized luggage past the gate. The zoo's own luggage lockers at the entrance cost €5 per use, which covers you for the whole visit.

Plan on at least three hours to see all the animal habitats, and note that last admission is strictly one hour before closing. Opening hours shift with the seasons — 9:30am–4pm in January and November–December, stretching to 9:30am–6pm from March to September — though the zoo closes only on Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day.

Getting to Dublin Zoo with luggage
