Plenty of travellers heading to a Blazers game or concert at the Moda Center need somewhere to leave a bag, turns away hard-sided bags at the door

The Rose Quarter Transit Center, right across from the arena, keeps the walk from the MAX to the entrance to about three minutes when you arrive with luggage. The arena itself offers no public tours outside of events, so the only time you'll be inside is with a ticket in hand. The Moda Center is a multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment arena located in Portland. The venue sits within the Rose Quarter, a sports and entertainment district in inner northeast Portland. Official bag check for the Moda Center is available at the P3 Lobby of the Garden Garage. Hard-sided bags are prohibited inside the Moda Center. Outside food and beverages are prohibited at the Moda Center, with exceptions allowed only for medical or children's needs. Visitors may bring empty, non-glass water bottles up to 32 ounces into the Moda Center to fill at designated water stations. Moda Center provides various on-site concession stands that serve items such as popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, Hawaiian food, and craft beers. Getting to Moda Center with luggage

The Rose Quarter Transit Center sits directly across from the arena, served by the MAX Blue, Green, and Red lines. From there — or from the Interstate/Rose Quarter light rail stop — it's roughly a three-minute walk to the Moda Center entrance, so you won't be hauling bags far if you arrive by train. A standard TriMet fare is $2.80 and covers 2.5 hours of travel across both MAX and bus services. If you're coming for a Blazers regular-season game, doors open 75 minutes before tip-off, which gives you time to sort out bag check before finding your seat. For concerts and family shows, doors typically open one hour before the listed start time, though that can shift depending on the event.

What to know before you go

Suites on the Umpqua Bank Suite level open 1 to 1.5 hours before an event starts, so if you have suite tickets you can settle in a little earlier than the general crowd. The arena doesn't offer public tours, and facility tours are currently limited to community partner organizations, so you'll only see the inside with an event ticket. It's a busy venue — about 1.5 million visitors a year pass through for basketball, concerts, and other events, and it's the home arena for both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Portland Fire. One date to keep in mind: the Portland Holiday Classic basketball tournament runs December 28–30, 2026, at venues around the city, so bag check and transit will be busier than usual.
