Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is the primary airport serving Hawaiʻi, and it has an attended baggage storage service for travellers. Getting between Honolulu Airport and the city

The Skyline rail system serves the airport via Lelepaua Station. Skyline trains run daily from 4:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., so a very early or very late flight means planning around those hours rather than assuming a train will be there. For Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu, the W Line is the official public transport bus route from the airport. Each ticketed passenger can bring one carry-on bag no larger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches and no heavier than 25 lbs.

Navigating the airport with luggage

Getting between terminals with a bag is made easier by the free intra-airport shuttle, which stops outside each terminal on the first level at kerbside. There's also a 10–15 minute walk between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with signs pointing towards Interisland Flights, though the shuttle is the better bet with anything heavy.

Terminals 1 and 2 have elevators and escalators up to the third level, where you can catch the free intra-airport transportation without hauling a bag up stairs. Lēpaua Station connects to the terminals via pedestrian bridges and walkways, and has elevators and escalators to help passengers with luggage.

Once inside the Skyline stations, elevators to all platforms and wide fare gates make rolling a suitcase through noticeably easier than a standard turnstile.
