Visitors heading to a game or show at Ball Arena often arrive with a bag that won’t be allowed past the door, so it’s worth knowing your options before you set off.

Getting to the arena on foot from Union Station is straightforward, since Wynkoop and Wewatta Streets both lead across Speer Boulevard to the venue. Drivers from the north can reach it just as easily via Speer Boulevard and Chopper Circle. Nearby Coors Field has its own strict bag rules, allowing only soft-sided single-pocket bags no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" and turning away backpacks entirely. Ball Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Denver’s Central Platte Valley district. Suitcases and large bags won’t get through the door at Ball Arena, where only small clutches, wristlets, and bum bags measuring 4" x 6" x 1.5" or smaller are permitted. If you do arrive with a bag, official storage is available through storage lockers near the Infinity Sculpture and the Spires in the Grand Atrium Plaza. The bag check service opens 30 minutes before general doors and closes 1 hour after the event. Keep in mind that anything you store will stay locked away during the event because Ball Arena has a no-re-entry policy. For prohibited bags, Ball Arena provides storage lockers near the Grand Atrium entrance starting at $15 per bag. Getting to Ball Arena with luggage

Most people reach Ball Arena on foot from Union Station by walking down Wynkoop or Wewatta Streets and crossing Speer Boulevard at 14th Street or Auraria Parkway. Arriving via Auraria Parkway means turning onto 7th, 9th, or 11th Street to reach the arena. Those driving in from the north can take Speer Boulevard and turn right onto Chopper Circle. The areas around 9th and Auraria Parkway, plus Speer Boulevard at Chopper Circle, see heavy foot traffic from people arriving and leaving.

Coors Field's bag rules are narrow: only soft-sided, single-pocket bags 16" x 16" x 8" or smaller are allowed, and backpacks or multi-pocket bags are turned away. Union Station is the closest light rail stop for Coors Field, served by the A, B, C, E, G, and W lines. From Union Station, you can also catch the RTD University of Colorado A Line straight to Denver International Airport.
