We found the shop near to our appartment so didnt have far to carry our bags. Left them for 4 hours and went sight seeing for the day before going to the airport. Booked and paid online and handed the bags into the shop.

Kalvin ter 1, Budapest, Hungary An excellent location next to the Kalvin ter metro station. Unfortunately on the day I went there it was closed. It would have been great if it the Tech Shop used for luggage storage had been open.

Great experience using this facility at Wombats hostel, close to where we had stayed. Our facility sadly didn't hold luggage on day of leaving, so to find this was great. The lovely staff were so helpful at Wombats, would absolutely recommend. Do cheap too!

Luggage Storage and Lockers in Budapest, Stasher's 2025 Guide

Luggage Storage Near Me in Budapest, with Stasher

Budapest is a city of contrasts and charm – where grand boulevards meet ruin pubs, thermal baths bubble beneath historic buildings, and the Danube divides two sides of a captivating story: Buda and Pest.

To truly experience Budapest, you’ll want to move freely from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, soaking in each area’s personality. With Stasher luggage storage options conveniently located across the city, including around Keleti Station, Nyugati Station, Deák Ferenc Square, and Buda Castle, you can explore Budapest’s most iconic districts without the burden of your bags.

Exploring Budapest’s Districts Bag-Free

Pest Side: Bustling, Lively, and Full of Surprises

Belváros – Inner City & Váci Street: This is the beating heart of Budapest. Home to the elegant Váci Street, riverside promenades, and St. Stephen’s Basilica, it’s perfect for a leisurely stroll. You’ll find stylish cafés, souvenir shops, and street performers just steps away. Store your luggage near Deák Ferenc tér, a major transport hub, and begin your city adventure right in the centre.

Erzsébetváros – The Jewish Quarter & Ruin Bars: This edgy, eclectic neighbourhood is known for its street art, vibrant nightlife, and historic synagogues. By day, explore the Dohány Street Synagogue or grab a coffee in a hidden courtyard. By night, dip into Budapest’s famous ruin bars, with Szimpla Kert leading the way. With Stasher points close by, you can drop your bags and head straight into the buzz.

Terézváros & Andrássy Avenue: Home to Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage boulevard lined with luxury shops, grand architecture, and the Hungarian State Opera House, this area blends class and culture. Walk all the way up to Heroes’ Square and into City Park for a full afternoon of sightseeing. If you’ve just arrived via Nyugati Station, store your luggage nearby and take it all in with ease.

Palace District – Józsefváros: A quieter gem with leafy streets and elegant 19th-century buildings, this area offers a more local, relaxed vibe. Don’t miss the National Museum, and stop for lunch in one of the charming garden restaurants. Ideal for a calm wander if you’ve already done the big-ticket sights.

Buda Side: Hills, History, and Panoramic Views

Castle District – Buda Castle & Fisherman’s Bastion: Step into the storybook side of Budapest. With cobbled streets, mediaeval houses, and some of the city’s best views, the Castle District is a must-see. Drop your bags at a nearby Stasher spot and explore Buda Castle, Matthias Church, and Fisherman’s Bastion without lugging around extra weight – especially useful if you’re climbing those hills!

Gellért Hill & the Citadella: Fancy a hike and a photo op? Gellért Hill offers sweeping views of both sides of the city. After admiring the Liberty Statue and fortress ruins, treat yourself to a soak in the Gellért Baths. There are Stasher locations within walking distance of the base, so you can enjoy the trek light-footed.

Óbuda – Old Buda: Often overlooked, Óbuda is full of Roman ruins, quiet streets, and quaint squares. History buffs will enjoy Aquincum, once a Roman military town. It’s a bit out of the centre, but easily reached by HEV suburban rail – perfect for a half-day trip without luggage in tow.
