airBaltic Cabin Baggage
On an airBaltic flight, each passenger is permitted 1 carry-on bag and 1 small personal item (such as a handbag, laptop bag, or umbrella).
The carry-on bag must not exceed 55x40x23cm in dimensions and a weight of 8kg. Passengers have the option of upgrading their cabin luggage to 12kg in weight when booking for 11,90€.

airBaltic Checked Baggage
The cost of checked baggage with airBaltic depends on your ticket type:
- Business – 2 bags with a combined weight not exceeding 40kg
- Green classic and Green plus – 1 bag up to 20kg
- Green – From 14,99€ per bag per one way journey when booking directly on airBaltic’s website.
Be aware that if you are booking baggage through a travel agent or at airBaltic ticket offices, or if you are amending an existing booking, the price per bag per one way journey is 20€.
If you are booking checked baggage at the check-in desk, the price is 60€ per bag.
airBaltic Excess Baggage Policy
Heavy Baggage Policy
For bags that exceed 20kg in weight, airBaltic has a heavy baggage fee of 50€. The maximum weight that will be allowed on the plane is 32kg.
Bulky Luggage Policy
If any item of luggage is larger than 100x50x80cm in size, airBaltic will charge a bulky luggage fee of 60€.
If a piece of luggage exceeds this size and weighs more than 20kg, there will be a combined heavy and bulky fee of 110€.
If you think it is likely that your luggage will exceed one of these restrictions, then you should contact the airline in advance of your flight.
airBaltic Sports Equipment
When booking with airBaltic, you have the option of adding sports equipment to your ticket. The price is 29,99€ if added when booking tickets on airbaltic.com or 39,99€ if modifying an existing booking.
This increases to 40€ per item if booking through a travel agent, and 60€ at the airport.
Sports equipment accepted by airBaltic:
- Bicycles – maximum weight of 25kg. For transportation, pedals must be removed, handle-bars tuned and tyres deflated
- Golf equipment – 1 golf bag containing up to 14 clubs, 12 balls, and 1 set of golf shoes
- Skiing equipment – 1 pair of skis, 1 pair of ski boots, helmet, and 1 set of ski poles
- Surfboard
- Kiteboard + 1 kite
airBaltic Musical Instruments
Instruments that do not exceed the weight or size allowance are included as checked baggage with airBaltic.
If you are travelling with a fragile instrument, such as a cello, airBaltic will accept them in the cabin if a special ticket has been purchased for them in the seat next to the passenger. The maximum weight of this item must not exceed 32kg.
