Friendly, efficient staff and excellent city-center location convenient to Stockholm Central Station. As this is a desirable luggage storage site serving several companies, be aware that there is often a long single queue to drop off/collect luggage from the narrow subterranean space. Plan for waits of up to 20 minutes to drop-off or collect luggage rather than cutting your timing too close. When collecting my own luggage, I was initially given two different tote bags that were not mine but had apparently been stored on top of my suitcases during the day. I declined those full (and wide open!) tote bags, which I recognized as belonging to two other customers who had been ahead of me in the queue earlier in the day. I hope they got them in the end.

Getting around Stockholm with bags
SL's rule is simple but strict: bulky luggage and anything over two metres long isn't allowed, and whatever you bring must be manageable on your own. Mälartåg passengers face a limit of two 80x50x35 cm bags of 20 kg each, plus one small hand luggage item, and the on-board staff aren't able to help you lift anything on or off. Gamla Stan is a 10-12 minute walk from Stockholm Central Station or one Red Line stop from T-Centralen, so it's an easy detour rather than a haul to reach the palace and old town.
There is no luggage storage or left-luggage facility within Gamla Stan itself. The Royal Palace is five minutes from Gamla Stan metro station, or ten from Kungsträdgården, so you'll want bags sorted before heading over.
