Alternative luggage storage and lockers near Surfers Paradise

There is no luggage storage at the Surfers Paradise bus station, but there are a few other options in the area.

SmarteCarte has self-service lockers throughout Australia, but the closest location to Surfers Paradise is at the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach. You’ll find them along the hall outside their Visitor’s Lounge. Opening hours are 7 am to 10 pm.

Prices start at:

  • Small – 420x900x420 mm (16.5”x35.4”x16.5”) – A$4 for 4 hours
  • Med. – 520x900x420 mm (20.4”x35.4”x16.5”) – A$6 for 4 hours
  • Large – 864x900x420 mm (34.0”x35.4”x16.5”) – A$8 for 4 hours

Fees increase by A$2 every four hours (so a large locker is $14 for 12-16 hours and so on). Opening the locker to retrieve or add items restarts the rental.

Rent-A-Lockers are located on the Esplanade (facing the beach), near Paradise Centre. These lockers operate 24 hours, but have a 7-day hire limit and are completely outdoors with no on-site security. They can also get quite pricey:

  • Small – 225 x 450 x 400 mm (08.8”x17.7”x15.7”) – A$7
  • Med. – 450 x 450 x 400 mm (17.7”x17.7”x15.7”) – A$10
  • Large – 900 x 450 x 400 mm (35.4”x17.7”x15.7”) – A$16

There is an additional surcharge of 2.5% for using a credit card and no coin operation. Numerous customers on Google Reviews complain that the large lockers do not fit standard large-size luggage and therefore aren’t worth the hefty price tag.
