Museums and attractions: bag rules
The Mauritshuis, a ten-minute walk from Den Haag Centraal, turns away suitcases, trolleys, and other bulky luggage — and its cloakroom won’t store them for you. Getting around Den Haag with luggage
HTM trams and buses allow hand luggage as long as there’s room and it doesn’t block exits or create a hazard, but you’re responsible for loading and watching your own bags. On Avenio trams, the designated luggage space is at the first and last double doors, alongside strollers and walkers. Scheveningen takes 15 to 20 minutes by public transport from Centraal, while the World Forum is a tram 17 ride to Kunstmuseum plus an eight-minute walk.
Arriving from Schiphol and Rotterdam airports
Direct NS Intercity trains from Schiphol to Den Haag Centraal run every 10 minutes and take between 27 and 48 minutes, with a one-way ticket around €9.80. From Rotterdam The Hague Airport, take bus 33 to Meijersplein and switch to metro line E, reaching the centre in about 30 minutes total. Whichever airport you fly into, you’ll arrive at a station with official luggage lockers — useful if you land before check-in.
