Stasher's 2026 Guide to Luggage Storage in Marrakech

Marrakech: Morocco's Red City, a UNESCO-listed marvel, and one of North Africa's most-visited destinations. From the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa to the calm of the Majorelle Garden, Marrakech rewards the curious — but it punishes anyone trying to wheel a suitcase through the narrow alleys of the Medina.

That's where Stasher comes in. We'll help you find safe, affordable luggage storage near you in Marrakech so you can wander the souks, sip mint tea on a rooftop, or take a day trip to the Atlas Mountains without your bags slowing you down.

    Why use Stasher in Marrakech?

Marrakech doesn't have a reliable network of official train station or airport lockers. The few storage options that exist tend to be expensive, hard to find, or limited to certain hours. Stasher fills that gap with a network of vetted hotels, riads, and shops across the Medina, Gueliz, and Hivernage — all bookable online in under two minutes.

Every bag is covered by a guarantee against theft or damage, so you can explore with confidence.

When you'll want luggage storage in Marrakech

For tourists. Most riads enforce strict 10–11am checkouts, and check-in rarely starts before 2pm. Dragging a suitcase through the souks in the midday heat is something you only do once.

For day-trippers. Many travellers use Marrakech as a base for Sahara tours, trips to Essaouira, or excursions into the Atlas Mountains. Store your main bag in the city and travel light.

For events and venues. Major venues across Marrakech enforce strict bag policies. A nearby Stashpoint saves you the queue at the cloakroom — or being turned away at the door.

    Upcoming Events in Marrakech

Marrakech International Film Festival runs annually in late November or early December, drawing international stars and cinephiles to screenings around Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Palais des Congrès.

Marrakech Marathon takes place every January, with the route winding past the Koutoubia Mosque, the Medina ramparts, and the Palmeraie.

Festival National des Arts Populaires transforms Jemaa el-Fnaa and the El Badi Palace into stages for traditional Moroccan music and dance every July.

Oasis Festival, Morocco's premier electronic music event, is usually held in September at a venue just outside the city.

Luggage storage at Marrakech Train Station

Marrakech ONCF Train Station, in the Gueliz neighbourhood, is the southern terminus of Morocco's national rail network, connecting to Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, and Fes. There's no consistently reliable official luggage storage inside the station — Stasher partners in Gueliz, a short walk from the entrance, are the most practical alternative, especially useful for early arrivals on the overnight from Tangier.

Luggage storage near Marrakech Menara Airport

Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) sits just 6km from the city centre — one of the most centrally-located airports of any major tourist city. There are no official left-luggage facilities inside the terminal. Stasher locations between the airport and the Medina are the most convenient option for early arrivals or late departures.

Luggage storage near Marrakech bus stations

Marrakech's main long-distance operators are CTM and Supratours. The CTM Bus Station sits in Gueliz, while the Supratours terminal is next to the train station and is the easiest route to Essaouira. Bab Doukkala, on the edge of the Medina, handles regional buses to the Ourika Valley and the Atlas foothills. None offer reliable on-site storage; Stasher partners cover all three.

    Luggage storage near Marrakech attractions

Marrakech's old city is compact but dense, and many attractions enforce restrictions on large bags.

Jemaa el-Fnaa, the UNESCO-listed central square, is the beating heart of Marrakech — and the worst place to be hauling a suitcase. Koutoubia Mosque, just west of the square, is a calm escape easier to enjoy hands-free. Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace both restrict large bags and have limited cloakroom space.

Majorelle Garden and the adjacent Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Gueliz have long queues and strict bag policies — drop your bags nearby before joining the line. Saadian Tombs and Ben Youssef Madrasa are two of the Medina's most photographed sites, with narrow entrances best navigated light.

Long-term and large group luggage storage in Marrakech

Stasher works just as well for a two-week Morocco itinerary as it does for a single afternoon. The daily rate stays flat with no surcharges for extended bookings. Travellers heading out on a multi-day Sahara tour or road trip often store a main suitcase here and travel with just a daypack.

Groups booking multiple bags pay the same per-bag rate with no bulk penalty. For groups of ten or more, the Stasher support team can help coordinate the booking.

It helps us monitor and support our hosts.
What happens if I don’t pick up my luggage on time?
No worries! We understand that plans change. The drop-off and pick-up times are just estimates. As long as your booking is within the duration you’ve paid for and the StashPoint is open, you won’t encounter any issues. If you arrive after the location has closed, please contact our support team. If you're unable to collect your luggage the next day, we can arrange shipping for you and provide the associated costs and options.
