Arriving and getting around Cancún with bags

Cancún was built for tourism, so the practicalities of moving bags around are mostly sorted. The ADO bus is the main link from the airport to the downtown bus station, taking 45 minutes to 1 hour and 5 minutes. Large suitcases go in the luggage compartment underneath, so you won't be wrestling them into the cabin on the way to the Hotel Zone.

It runs about every 30 minutes during the day, with a one-way fare of 145 pesos. From the downtown terminal, city buses R-1 and R-2 connect to the Hotel Zone. If you're arriving via the Tren Maya station, intermodal buses reach the ADO Bus Terminal in about 35 minutes.
