It was basically self service we placed bags in locked room and then retrieved bags later. Anyone with code for locked room could remove luggage or items not belonging to them. Not ideal or very secure.

The man at the front desk just pointed me to the room to get my luggage. The bag was on the shelf high up in otherwise empty room. I mean...i DO go to the gym and am able to lift quite a lot but they shouldnt exept me to.

I give 3 stars because they make you put all your suitcases together with others, and the fear is that, with nothing checked — neither when you arrive nor when you leave — you pray that when you return no one has taken yours by mistake 😉

Getting into Valletta and storing bags at the airport

Malta International Airport has no rail or train system, including at the airport itself. The TD4 Tallinja Direct bus is the direct link from Malta International Airport to the Valletta bus terminus. Its journey takes approximately 25 to 35 minutes, making it the airport-to-Valletta bus connection rather than a rail transfer.

Luggage deposit at Malta International Airport is available 24/7 in a storage room inside the Check-in Hall, near the Customer Services Information Centre. A customer service desk in the departures hall also provides luggage storage. These airport facilities suit an early arrival that needs bags left before taking the TD4 into Valletta, as well as a late departure where luggage can remain at the airport. The Check-in Hall location and departures-hall desk give separate airport points for depositing bags, while the TD4 ends at Valletta’s bus terminus.

Bag rules and lockers at Valletta's museums and palaces

Grand Master’s Palace allows no bags inside, although lockers are provided for belongings. The only exceptions are medical and maternity bags. At MUŻA, bags go in a locker room, and the locker key must be returned to reception on exit.

The National Museum of Archaeology provides lockers and a large luggage trolley for visitors’ bags during a visit. St John’s Co-Cathedral does not allow large wheeled luggage. Large handheld bags and backpacks must be carried by hand or worn on the front.

For a route linking these sights, a single luggage-storage stop avoids transferring the same bags between the Palace lockers, MUŻA’s locker, and the Archaeology Museum’s trolley. It also avoids arriving at St John’s with large wheeled luggage or carrying a large bag or backpack on the front.

Late visits around Valletta's 2026 exhibition and festival

Stasher has 2 Valletta points that stay open late, giving luggage storage in Valletta a practical late collection window for evening visits. The Grand Master’s Palace hosts Inspired by History: From Tapestries to Contemporary Fashion until 30 August 2026, so the late-opening points also suit visits during the exhibition’s run. Science in the City takes place in Valletta on 25 and 26 September 2026. Those same two points provide a stated late-opening option around the festival dates, rather than limiting collection to earlier in the day.
