Searching for luggage storage in Lima? Standing on the Pacific coast, the Peruvian capital of Lima is a vibrant metropolis with a lot to offer. Navigating through the numerous landmarks, museums and bustling neighborhoods can be an amazing experience, but one thing might bother you, and that is... your luggage.
Whether you have a few hours until you have to check in your Airbnb, or you’re only in town for the day and want to explore as much as possible, you can’t be dragging your bags around with you! Luckily, we’ve got you covered.
Known as the “Airbnb of luggage”, Stasher is the world’s first luggage storage online service. We have been operating since 2015, working with hundreds of businesses all around the world ―with locations in major cities like London, Amsterdam, and New York. Our mission is to keep your luggage safe and sound while you’re travelling, hands free!
Of course, Stasher is not your only option; there are other alternatives for luggage storage around Lima. You can try the left luggage facilities in the airport and train stations, or museum and gallery lockers, though for limited time and space. However, if you want a convenient and affordable service, you’ll definitely go with Stasher.
Stasher works with many local businesses around Lima, such as hotels, cafes and restaurants, each strategically selected by members of our devoted team. Our locations, called StashPoints, are chosen with our customers’ best interest in mind, and measure up to strict company standards.
You don’t need to worry, your luggage is safe with us! We perform regular checks to make sure our guidelines are being followed, and your bags are securely waiting for you to pick them up.
There are several reasons as to why you should choose Stasher for luggage storage, such as the following:
Luggage storage in Lima starts from $6 per day, and does not exceed $6 for any additional day!
All around major transport hubs and in popular neighbourhoods in Lima, there are several StashPoints available. Stasher works with a network of local businesses to ensure there’s always a convenient location nearby for you to leave your suitcases and go about your day without having to drag them around.
With Stasher, you don’t need to worry about your late hours, since most of our StashPoints are open until late at night, and some even work 24/7 to accommodate all itineraries.
However, not all businesses are as flexible. Make sure that you double-check the working hours for each location, to avoid surprises.
Storing your luggage in Lima with Stasher really couldn’t be easier!
Here’s how to do it:
Even if Stasher doesn’t work for you, there are some alternatives to try. You can try the left luggage offices at the local airport, or certain residencies, as well as other luggage storage services available. Always be careful and prepared for last-minute changes.
The Left Luggage facilities at the Lima airport are located in the International Arrivals public area on the ground floor. The offices are open 24/7 and cost S39 per day, S6.50 per hour and piece of luggage.
Oversized items are charged depending on dimensions, but there are also private lockers available for smaller items. The rates are S12 per hour for everything you can fit in the lockers, sizing up to 45 cm (wide) x 60 cm (long) x 75 cm (high).
Note that only cash payments are accepted, either in Peruvian Soles or US Dollars.
You can always leave your bags with the hotels or AirBnBs you are staying at; however, this option comes with certain restrictions, as hotels might be able to store your luggage for just a few hours. Expect charging, or at least tipping the staff.
There is a plethora of museums, art galleries and historcal buildings around Lima, such as Museo Larco, Museo MATE, Museo de Arte de Lima, etc. These establishments usually feature cloakrooms and lockers available on the premises, so if you’re planning on browsing around the area, you can try leaving your luggage there.
However, you need to be careful: museums usually close down early in the day, and their available space is quite limited ―so it’s best for leaving a small carry-on, or a backpack.
Lima is located between the valleys of Chillón, Rímac, and the Lurín rivers, and has a population of more than 9 million people. It’s an interesting metropolis, offering a wide array of activities to match everyone’s interests: from historical landmarks, museums and fancy restaurants, to wave rides at the beach, there’s something for everyone!
While in Lima, you can try amazing Peruvian cuisine, visit the markets and try exotic food and fresh fruit, and buy a bunch of souvenirs to bring back home. If you’re more of a party person, don’t miss out on a night out ―the vibrant night scene will give you plenty of stories to tell afterwards!
Finally, visiting Lima could only be a stop in your journey: you can also travel to different parts of Peru, like Cusco to see Machu Picchu, Mancora for the beaches or Iquitos for jungle adventures.
