Most visitors arriving by rail come through Torino Porta Nuova, the city's largest hub, and that's where the station's own luggage desk sits next to Track 1.

It opens daily from 08:00 to 20:00 and charges €6.00 for the first five hours, then €1 per extra hour up to the 12th, and €0.50 per hour after that. The same desk is listed at €6.

If you're flying in, Torino Porta Susa is the rail link for the airport, with a direct Trenitalia service running every 30 minutes and taking about half an hour.

Getting around Torino with bags

On GTT surface transport and the Metro, you can carry up to two pieces of luggage free of charge as long as neither exceeds 80x50x50 cm, and extra-urban routes let you use the luggage compartment when there is one. Metro stations have lifts for step-free access between platforms and the street, which helps if you're wheeling a case. The historic Line 7 tram loops through the centre from Piazza Castello and passes near Porta Nuova, useful for reaching the station area without changing lines.

The Museo Egizio prohibits suitcases, trolleys, large backpacks, and other bulky luggage inside, and its cloakroom service is currently suspended, so you'll need to sort storage before you go in. It can be reached in 10–15 minutes on foot from Porta Nuova, so dropping a bag at the station desk before heading over can work.

The Musei Reali Torino has a cloakroom but it won't take trolleys or suitcases, only smaller luggage. The Museo Nazionale del Cinema at the Mole Antonelliana asks you to leave bulky items, large bags and large backpacks in its designated storage area rather than carrying them through the galleries.

The Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali tells visitors that backpacks of any size and bags larger than 30x40x15 cm must be left in the cloakroom before entering the exhibition halls. The museum also lists keyed lockers at reception available for a €1.00 coin deposit, so smaller items can be secured there.

Exploring Torino and nearby sights

The Mole Antonelliana's panoramic lift climbs 85 metres above the city and the terrace looks out over Turin and the Alps. If you're heading out to the Reggia di Venaria and Parco La Mandria, the Venaria Express shuttle leaves from Piazza Castello and Piazza Vittorio Veneto in the centre.

For football or events, Allianz Stadium sits north of the centre and is worth planning for separately, as it draws crowds for matches and tours.
