Glasgow Central Station

Glasgow has two main train stations: Central Station and Queen Street Station. They provide connections to practically everywhere in the UK, including direct connections to London, as well as to the rest of Scotland.

Excess Baggage is located next to Platform 1 and there’s a pre-booking option on their website. The service charges £7.50 for up to 3 hours, £12.50 for the first full day, and £20 for up to 48 hours.

Excess Baggage is open from 07:00 to 23:00.

Useful Information about Glasgow Central Station

• The Glasgow Subway has stations near most of the city's well-known attractions, however Glasgow Central is not one of them. St. Enoch is the closest station, and the best way to get there is through the secondary exit at Glasgow Central station, which leads to Argyll Street. From there, turn left, and St. Enoch is a 5-minute walk away.
• The station’s renovation in 1905 not only introduced a wonderfully attractive station, but also one that is incredibly useful to use. The major part of the station is a terminus, and there are no steps between the trains and Gordon Street, which spans its front.
• If you want to catch your flight from Glasgow Airport and you're in Central Station, the nearest stop is “Bothwell Street at Hope Street” which is 5 minutes walking from the station. From there you can take the 500 Airport Express bus service.

Glasgow Queen Street Station is the second largest train station in Glasgow. From there, trains travel to northern locations such as Aberdeen, Dundee, Fort William, Inverness, Oban, Perth, and Stirling. Glasgow Central is around 20 minutes away on mostly traffic-free streets.

Glasgow Queen Street Station does provide lost property/left luggage facilities provided by ScotRail. Keep in mind that you can’t make an online reservation and their prices are not listed in their website.

However, you can use the nearby Buchanan Street Bus Station which is a 7-minute walk from Queen Street Station.

The Buchanan Street bus station has a left luggage facility that's open from 07:30 to 23:00 but you can only use the facilities for 24 hours.

Useful Information about Buchanan Street Bus Station

• It is a 7-minute walk from the Glasgow Queen Street station and a 10-minute walk from Glasgow Central Station.
• Buchanan Street is well-known for being the central thoroughfare of the city's shopping district. This opulent promenade in Glasgow is home to a wide variety of businesses, two arcades, a library, a museum, a design center, galleries, and various decorated Victorian and Edwardian-style buildings.

Luggage Storage Near Glasgow Airport

Also called Glasgow International Airport, the airport is around 16 km west of the Glasgow city center. That's a 20-minute ride via car, taxi, or the 500 Airport Express bus to Glasgow Central station.

Note that the Glasgow Airport Express shuttle bus connects Glasgow Central station with the airport. The bus departs from right outside the airport terminal and costs £8 for an adult single and £4 for children under the age of 12.

During peak hours, the Glasgow Airport Express runs every 10 minutes, seven days a week. If you want to get to Glasgow Central Station then you must exit the bus at the "Bothwell Street at Hope Street" bus stop. The Glasgow Central train station will soon be visible on your right.

Luggage storage in Glasgow International Airport is handled by Luggage Point which is located in the main terminal building hall.

Around a 30-minute walk west of Glasgow Queen Street station, this art gallery and museum is a favorite attraction for visitors and locals. Opened in 1901, it boasts stunning architecture, a family-friendly atmosphere, and some of Europe's great art and museum collections.

You can store your small-sized items at the Lower Ground Entrance, at a cost of £1 per item.

Gallery of Modern Art (GoMa)
