So convenient — they recommended a luggage storage spot near the accommodation, only about a 3-minute walk. There are many storage options to choose from: per-item services and also lockers.

Really easy app to use . Fantastic locations to drop bags off. So handy to drop bags off at a secure location leaving you free to get on with your day without worrying about your luggage.  Would definitely use again and would highly recommend

The girl at the hostel was really helpful & friendly, taking our bag with us to see where it was held on a secure locked room. We would thoroughly recommend them. One thing might be to ask for some ID before collection & checking that we were taking the right bags but that's just us being cautious.

Luggage storage in Ahrensburg

Checking out of a holiday rental in Ahrensburg hours before a late train can leave you stuck carrying everything, so Stasher helps you drop the bags and use that time properly.

The town's rail stations have no staffed luggage desks, so bags stay with you on the platform, and Schloss Ahrensburg offers no cloakroom or storage once you're inside. Getting to Hamburg Airport with luggage is straightforward, though, with trains running at least twice an hour along the route. The Stellmoor-Ahrensburg-Tunneltal nature reserve near the town is reachable via two regional rail stations and two subway stations. Ahrensburg is the largest town in the Stormarn district, northeast of Hamburg. Schloss Ahrensburg is a landmark 16th-century Renaissance-style moated castle. Schloss Ahrensburg provides slippers for visitors to wear while touring the castle to protect the historic parquet floors. With Stasher, you can store bags from €4.97 per bag per day.

Arriving and getting around with luggage

Bahnhof Ahrensburg is the town's central rail hub, served by regional trains on the RE 80 to Hamburg Hbf, Bad Oldesloe, and Lübeck Hbf, and the RB 81 to Hamburg Hbf and Bad Oldesloe, plus connections to regional bus lines and the U1. The station itself is unstaffed, with no on-site mobility assistance, so plan to manage your bags independently there. Getting to Hamburg Airport by public transport takes around 44 minutes, with trains running at least twice an hour along the route, while Ahrensburg-Gartenholz station offers an additional RB 81 stop for anyone staying on that side of town. One useful NAH.SH rule: a folded bicycle stowed like luggage travels free on the regional network here.

Visiting Schloss Ahrensburg with bags

Bus line 469 runs directly from Bahnhof Ahrensburg to the castle, stopping at Rondeel and Schloss, though it drops you off right at the entrance with whatever you're carrying. Inside, the museum hands visitors slippers to protect the parquet floors, so bulky bags and outdoor footwear are not the easiest combination once you're moving through the rooms. There's no mention of any cloakroom or bag storage at the castle itself, making it smarter to leave larger luggage elsewhere in Ahrensburg before catching the bus over. For anyone bringing a small dog along, NAH.SH lets pets the size of a domestic cat travel free in a transport box on trains, though not on buses.
