- Trains to Exmouth and London Waterloo stop at Exeter Central railway station, and there are frequent bus routes that run from outside the station to the city center.
- From St. Davids, there are two direct routes to London. The Great Western Railway service to London Paddington, which offers the Night Riviera sleeper car service, and on the West of England Line, South Western Railway also has a service that travels via Salisbury to London Waterloo.
- Exeter is the farthest point west where discounted fares can be obtained using the National Railcard.
Exeter Central Station
Exeter Central station is situated in the city center, within walking distance from the Princesshay shopping centre and the city’s famous cathedral. It is the most convenient station for direct trips on the Riviera Line to Torquay and Paignton, the Avocet Line to Exmouth, and the Tarka Line to Barnstaple.
