Luggage storage at the airport and bus terminal

Aeroparque Jorge Newbery has no luggage storage inside the terminal, so if you land there with time to spare, you will need to look beyond the airport itself.

Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) has no direct train link into Buenos Aires, and the quickest public transport routes to the centre take 45 to 60 minutes by road. The Tienda León coach runs an express service from Ezeiza to its Puerto Madero terminal in the city centre, taking roughly 50 to 70 minutes in normal traffic.

The wider Retiro transport hub brings together the Mitre, Belgrano Norte, and San Martín rail lines, Subte lines C and E, and the long-distance bus terminal, so it is a place many travellers pass through with bags in tow. Bag rules at museums and attractions

At the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, small purses and backpacks up to 35 x 45 x 15 cm are allowed inside the rooms, but only if worn on the front of your body. It has a cloakroom, but it does not accept suitcases, bicycles, musical instruments, or similar large items, and its use is subject to available capacity.

At MALBA, anything larger than 30 x 40 cm must be left at the ground-floor cloakroom, while items over 70 x 55 cm or wheeled luggage are refused outright. At the Museo Etnográfico, suitcases, large umbrellas, large bags, and backpacks larger than 30 x 40 cm must be left in the provided lockers.

Getting around Buenos Aires with luggage

Buenos Aires buses let you travel with suitcases or large bags as long as they do not block the aisle or keep other passengers from finding a seat.

The Obelisco is easiest to reach on Subte lines B, C, or D via Carlos Pellegrini, 9 de Julio, or Diagonal Norte stations, all within a one- to four-minute walk. The Mirador Obelisco itself is open Sunday to Wednesday from 9:00 to 21:00, and Thursday to Saturday from 9:00 to 23:45.

To reach San Telmo by subway, San Juan on Line C or Independencia on Line E are the nearest stops, though both leave you with a six- to seven-block walk to the neighbourhood centre.
