Luggage Storage at Istanbul Transportation Hubs

You might be able to leave your luggage in the bus company’s office if you have a ticket with one of the bus companies operating lines from Esenler Otagan – Istanbul’s main bus station. However, the availability of the service is not guaranteed. Train stations typically have left baggage lockers that are bright yellow and easy to spot. 

Sirkeci Gar Train Station

You will need to locate a yellow locker that has a green indicator that it is available. When you place your luggage and receive the receipt ticket, you will need to keep it safe and flat. If your ticker gets wet, folds, or crumples, you won’t be able to insert it into the locker to collect your bag and may. be subject to a fine. 

The costs for the baggage lockers are:

• Handbags and small luggage – 3 YTL for up to 4 hours
• Large suitcases – 4 YTL for up to 4 hours
• 4 to 14 hours – 50 YTL for every hour

Luggage Storage Istanbul Airports

If you arrive in Istanbul by plane, you could store some of your belongings at the airport’s luggage storage options. However, there is a fee that usually ranges depending on the size of your luggage. Below is more information on luggage storage options at the three major airports. 

Istanbul New Airport (IST)

IST is the main international airport in Istanbul. You can leave your luggage in one of their luggage lockers or at the left luggage office. The luggage storage office is located in the Arrivals area near the Turkish Airlines office. Prices depend on the bag size as follows:

• Extra-large Bag – 72 TL per day
• Large Bag – 53 TL per day
• Bag – 36 TL per day
• Plastic Bag – 27 TL per day

Luggage lockers at IST Airport can be found on the Departure floor at entrance number 1 for domestic flights and entrance number 8 for international flights. On the Arrival floor, they are located near the car rental agency offices. Luggage locker prices are as follows:

• Small locker – 40 TL for the first 12 hours and 40 TL additions for every 24 hours 
• Big locker – 60 TL for the first 12 hours and 60 TL additions for every 24 hours 

Ataturk Airport

At Ataturk Airport there are luggage lockers available on the Departures floor of the International terminal by the Row B check-in desks. You can also store your luggage at one of two Baggage Custody Services locations for the following fees:

• Big Bag – 25 TL per day
• Suitcase – 18 TL per day
• Hand Luggage – 15 TL per day
• Plastic Bag – 12 TL per day

Sabiha Gökcen Airport
