Stasher Named Technology Provider of the Year at UKinbound Awards for Excellence

Stasher, the world’s #1 rated luggage storage platform, has been named Technology Provider of the Year at the UKinbound Awards for Excellence 2025 — a prestigious recognition celebrating organisations making a significant contribution to the UK’s inbound tourism sector.

The award was presented at UKinbound’s annual Gala Dinner on 26 February at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, where more than 400 travel and tourism professionals gathered to celebrate innovation across the industry.

The UK’s inbound visitor economy is forecast to be worth over £35.7 billion in 2026, and the awards recognise companies helping shape the future of travel for international visitors.

Recognised for Solving a Real Travel Problem

The Technology Provider of the Year category highlights businesses delivering genuine innovation within the travel sector — specifically those that solve real problems for travellers while creating value for partners across the tourism ecosystem.

Winners were selected by an independent judging panel including Professor Xavier Font, Professor of Sustainability Marketing at the University of Surrey, Eddy Leviten, Executive Director of the Tourism Alliance, and Ian Taylor, Executive Editor at Travel Weekly.

For Stasher, the award reflects years of focused work building technology that removes one of the most common frustrations travellers face: what to do with luggage before check-in or after check-out.

“This means a lot to us,” said Jacob Wedderburn-Day, CEO and Co-founder of Stasher.

“We’ve always believed that luggage storage is essential travel infrastructure – it just hasn’t been built properly yet. The UK welcomes tens of millions of international visitors a year, and a huge number of them are still dragging bags through cities, killing time in cafes or cutting their days short because they don’t know what to do with their luggage.

We’ve been focused on fixing that – and we’ve done it by being lean, obsessing over the basics, and building something that actually works for partners as well as travellers. Getting to 10,000 locations with sustainable revenue growth isn’t something many travel tech companies can say. This award is a nice reminder that solving a real problem, properly, still counts for something.”

A Landmark Moment for the Company

The award arrives at an exciting moment for the London-based travel tech company.

Earlier this week, Stasher announced a landmark partnership with Victoria Coach Station, the UK’s busiest coach terminal serving around 20 million passengers annually, becoming its official online luggage storage booking provider.

The partnership positions Stasher as the digital storage layer for one of London’s most iconic transport hubs, further strengthening its presence across the UK’s travel infrastructure.

Rapid Growth of a Global Platform

The recognition also follows a series of major milestones for Stasher as the company continues to expand its global network.

Today, Stasher operates across:

  • 10,000+ locations
  • 1,000+ cities worldwide
  • 3 million bags safely stored
  • 750,000+ app downloads
  • 4.8 / 5 rating on Trustpilot

The platform works with major travel and hospitality brands including Premier Inn, Accor, Booking.com, and GetYourGuide, helping travellers store bags conveniently near transport hubs, attractions, and neighbourhood centres.

Supporting the UK’s Visitor Economy

The award also highlights the growing role that travel technology plays in improving the experience for international visitors arriving in the UK.

Joss Croft OBE, CEO of UKinbound, said:

“Our Awards for Excellence recognise businesses making an outstanding contribution to the UK’s inbound visitor economy. Stasher exemplifies the kind of homegrown travel tech innovation that improves the experience for international visitors while creating tangible economic benefit across the UK.”

Looking Ahead

As international travel continues to grow, Stasher’s mission remains clear: to make luggage storage simple, accessible, and reliable wherever travellers go.

From major transport hubs like Victoria Coach Station to thousands of local stashpoints across the world, the goal is to give travellers the freedom to explore cities without their bags holding them back.

Winning Technology Provider of the Year is a powerful recognition of that mission — and a reminder that solving everyday travel problems can make a global impact.
