Really easy and convenient service - we had to check out of our booking.com apartment by 10am but our flight home from Marseille wasn’t until the evening so it was a perfect and affordable solution to drop our main luggage cases off and be able to do more sightseeing.
We needed somewhere to store a small suitcase as we had a few hours to kill in Bristol before a friend was picking us up. This Stasher location was a quick 5 min walk from station and so easy to use. The staff I encountered on the drop-off and pick-up were friendly and courteous and the whole process only took a matter of minutes. After a lovely afternoon exploring Bristol, we came back to pick up our suitcase and, as our friend was running late, we purchased a drink in the hotel bar while we waited. Win win!

I was a bit nervous about it since it's sometimes hard to know what to trust on the internet, especially in a foreign country. Aeroporti di Istanbul
A Istanbul ci sono tre aeroporti. Il principale è il Nuovo Aeroporto o Istanbul Airport o İstanbul Havalimanı e si trova nella zona europea della città, nelle vicinanze di un’area turistica. Gli altri due aeroporti sono Ataturk e Sabiha Gohcen.
Il Nuovo Aeroporto è molto distante dal centro storico di Istanbul e per arrivarci in autobus o metropolitana si impiega più di un’ora.
In questo caso, per arrivare in centro, la soluzione migliore è l’auto a noleggio o il taxi. I mezzi pubblici si possono prendere all’aeroporto di Ataturk, che si trova, invece, più vicino al centro storico della città.
In questo aeroporto si può prendere anche la metropolitana, che per arrivare in centro impiega meno di un’ora. Il biglietto per la tratta costa complessivamente 8 lire turche.
Acquistando una carta turistica di 6 lire, il viaggio in metro si può fare gratis, perché al termine della corsa, inserendola nelle macchinette, vengono restituite le 6 lire spese per acquistarla.
Il bus da Ataturk per Piazza Taksim entra in servizio alle 4 del mattino e parte ogni 30 minuti.
Per quanto riguarda i depositi bagagli aeroportuali, nel Nuovo Aeroporto ci sono sia i depositi bagagli, nella sala principale, che gli armadietti automatici, al check in dell’area partenze.
Non si hanno informazioni sui prezzi, che invece sono resi noti per il deposito bagagli dell’aeroporto di Ataturk. Quest’ultimo servizio è attivo 24 ore su 24, con tariffe che variano in base alle dimensioni e alla tipologia di bagaglio (da 4 a 10 euro).
Stazioni di Istanbul
Istanbul ha 5 stazioni ferroviarie. La più importante e suggestiva è quella di Sirkeci, conosciuta anche per essere il capolinea del leggendario Orient Express, che, in realtà, arriva solo una volta all’anno.
In questa stazione ci sono anche pochi collegamenti con l’Europa, circa tre o quattro treni. Gli spostamenti maggiori, infatti, avvengono principalmente in aereo. Il luogo però è certamente da visitare, perché è un vero e proprio museo a cielo aperto, con rappresentazioni di oggetti, cimeli e treni del passato.
Affacciato sulle rive del Bosforo, questo scalo ha un treno extraurbano che conduce alla periferia della città, con vista sul mare di Marmaray.
Presente anche un ristorante, che, neanche a farlo apposta, si chiama proprio Orient Express.
Le stazioni ferroviarie di Istanbul sono collegate alle altre città turche e permettono di raggiungere facilmente la capitale, Ankara. Il viaggio in treno costa circa 20 euro.
